Don't Let Hell Live in Your House
God led me to do a series on Domestic Abuse/Violence. I started the sermon series today, dealing with what God's Word says about domestic abuse. Although the bible does not mention those words directly, the scriptures are clear that God does not condone such actions. God commands us in Genesis 2 to be as one. He commands us to love our wives in Ephesians 5. He commands us to not be harsh to our wives in Colossians 3, and He commands us to honor our wives in 1 Peter 3. Husbands (and future husbands) if you strive to be as one in a loving, respecting, honoring relationship, there will be no room for domestic abuse. Women are a gift from God. When we honor the gift, we honor the Giver.

Using Your Power
What a mighty word First Lady Dr. Cynthia delivered yesterday. Her subject, "Using Your Power", challenged all of us to look within ourselves to discover, develop and deploy the gifts that God has already given to us. So often, we look at others and think they have our solution, when in most cases the solution is already within us. God asked Moses, "What do you have in your hand?" when Moses felt that he didn't have what it took to lead God's people. My awesome wife reminded you and me that what we need is already in our hands. We simply have to use our power. Make it a great day.

No Time Like Now Time
What is it that you keep intending to do, but never get done? Stop putting off for tomorrow what you can do today. Jesus said that the night time will come when no man can work. There's no time like now time. Don't just do it, but just do it now.

You Were Highly Recommended
In the Book of Job, God recommended Job to Satan to prove that in spite of what he would go through, Job would never turn his back on God. Isn't it interesting to know that, while you are doing everything you are supposed to do, God sometimes recommends you for testing? He only recommends those who He knows: 1) can handle the test, and 2) will still glorify Him, in spite of the challenge. Don't betray the confidence that God has in you, as demonstrated by His recommendation. In the end, you will reap if you do not faint. Job did, and so will you.

Guard Your Energy
God gives each of us the necessary energy to perform his daily will through our lives. The enemy comes to deplete you of that energy. The enemy sends distractions, gossipers, and many other forces to deflate and discourage you. You cannot afford to allow circumstances or characters to rob you of your energy. Guard your energy. You need it to perform His will. Remember the woman who touched Jesus' clothes? Just as Jesus knew when people were pulling energy from Him, so should you. People who give you headaches, stomach aches or heart aches are negative enery drainers. Learn to guard your energy from them.

May I Help You?
This is a common question that we hear when we enter retail establishments. Workers are trained to automatically ask this question when a customer enters the store. As Christians, this should also be our standard question. We should approach each day trying to determine how we can help others. 1 John 3:17 (NIV) asks, "if anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?" Just saying.

Freedom in Forgiveness
When you fail to forgive those who have wronged you, you allow them to continue to affect you. Proverbs 17:9 (AMP) says "He who covers and forgives an offense seeks love, but he who repeats or harps on a matter separates even close friends." Free yourself by forgiving them for hurting, divorcing, walking out on, lying to, cheating on, talking about, not being there for, stealing from, not supporting, taking advantage of, or in any other way of wronging you. Forgiveness unshackles you from your past so you can embrace your future.
