Too Close to Turn Around

What have you been waiting on God to do in your life? Help you finish your degree? Restore your marriage? Save your children? Start a new business? Get a new job? Whatever it is, you must know that you are close to completing the task. Sometimes it seems as if we take one step forward and two steps back. It appears that everytime we make a little progress, some negative circumstance comes along to derail all of our efforts. But you can't give up. You've come too far to turn around. Romans 13:11 tells us that our salvation is closer now than when we first believed. Whatever you are believing God for right now, know that it shall come to pass if you keep pressing forward. You've made a lot of progress and come a long way. Even though you are not perfect, you are a lot better than you used to be. You've cleaned up your language; kicked some bad habits; you're praying more; reading your bible; you're going to church. Look at you - you're on your way! You may say "I still have a long way to go," but God says "You're Too Close to Turn Around Now." Press on my brother, press on my sister. You're almost there!

So often we want to throw in the towel not taking into account that we have something to hold onto. (Some may miss that.) The towel can represent a number of things: the Word, faith, hope, optimism, love, etc. As long as we have something to hold onto, we should be encouraged to tighten not loosen our grip. Thanks again Holy Spirit for a timely word.

I'm not a member of your congregation, but am a member of the same body of believers. I shared a testimony with Antionette and she encouraged me to share it here as it may apply to your current series.

A friend and I were walking into a store late one evening when we saw a homeless man settling in for the night. We felt impressed to get the man something while in the store. As we came out with a $2.50 Lunchable in hand I approached the man and told him that we were missionaries and felt that God wanted to bless him tonight and would he please accept our gift. He accepted and we asked if there was anything we could pray with him about. He said he has money coming in from Veterans Benefits, but can't find a place to live. We prayed with him.

When we finished praying with a burst of energy he said "hey wait...just a minute" and pulled some items out of his pocket. There was a $10 a $1 and a piece of paper. He handed us the $10 bill and said "put this in the plate." We explained that we couldn't take his money, but he insisted and said "I've got 20 times that...take it" so we asked did he want us to put it in the church offering or to missions. He said missions.

We walked away amazed! Thinking we were going to be a blessing to someone else, God turned it around and blessed us back with a four fold return! That $10 is now in my missionary account and I know God will bless "Donny" for his generosity.

The message here is when we are obedient even in little things (we only spent $2.50, but we took time to be a blessing to another person and share the love of Jesus) God blesses back and multiplies it. It may not always be financial, but we will reap blessing when we sow blessing!

Be encouraged friends and keep your eyes open for those divine opportunities follow the prompting of the Spirit and watch the favor of God pour out on you!

In His Name!

Pastor this is a great idea thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. I was at that point just recently, where i wanted to give up, but GOD is so good as he restored all the things I thought i had lost, I thank GOD for blessing me thru all the trials in my life.
